International Women's Day

Today is the day we celebrate women.

And it felt fitting that I catch up with posting today, on the day we celebrate the women in our lives (including ourselves, too). This one will be short and sweet.

I was doing so good! Staying on top of things. All the things. But then I became a bit overwhelmed with all the things. And I am sure you can relate, and understand, and appreciate how busy life can be.

But that is not what I wanted to write about today.

Today, on this beautifully sunny day, we celebrate us.

I was able to hang out with one of my favourite women. One who has encouraged me since I have known her. One who has uplifted me when I felt my worst. One who has inspired me. A woman I admire. A woman who I am so freaking proud of for the obstacles she has had to overcome.

And, someone who has made me laugh so hard, I peed my pants! (True story and more than once).  We have gone on a mini vacay together (about the same time I laughed so hard, but I mean, which of us hasn’t peed a little at some point).

She said something so wonderfully profound to me that it has me thinking about it still, hours later. And I am wondering how I can keep it in my head, so I utilize its value to the fullest.

My friend of over a decade said, “If you want your life to be different, you have to do things differently.”

And she is so right.

I love her even more for saying it.

So, I am going to do things differently.

I’m not sure what that will look like yet. I do know, I am not wanting to live my life in fear and anxiety anymore. I want to live this beautifully messy and complex life I have been given, gratefully and with purpose and meaning.

I wish that for all of us.

On this day of honouring women. I wish it for every woman.

Until next time, thank you for hanging out with me in this moment. Cheers to all good things.
